The Plaza Hotel recruited the one and only Betsey Johnson to design the 18th floor Eloise themed suite. If you want to spend a night in the room, it’s going to $995. If you’re curious, comparable (though less pink) rooms go for around $700 in high season with no bonus goodies.
This does include an Eloise monogrammed bathrobe (slightly creepy), an Eloise camera, $100 gift card to the Eloise shop and a framed photo of you in the suit (ghasp!). Not bad for A THOUSAND DOLLARS per NIGHT.
Oh, if mommy and daddy want to have a grown up adjoining room and the Eloise room, that’s going to burn you $2045 per night. Oh, to be affluent!

New York designer Norma Kamali’s Techwalk mannequins are being released on the streets of NYC today.
If you’re in the New York ‘hood, check out the mannequins on Broadway – they’re part of the Sidewalk Catwalk exhibition. You’ve got until September 3rd to see the pieces, which gives you amount of buffer room.

It’s official: AllSaints has opened up their first North American flagship in NYC’s Soho district. The location is at 512 Broadway, and a massive 13,600 sq/ft. While AllSaints is not quite as massive as the Topshop flagship 25,000 sq/ft, though you’ll be more impressed with the items available.
New Yorkers officially have a well of delight to pull from this summer, and while the pieces may be more than your average high street boutique, they are going to last. demiCouture summer picks include the Verga leather jacket, striped Manila cardi, Hydrus tailcoat, Bolly top, Bianca sandals and Dirty Ezra skirt.
In case you had not yet heard, it is New York designer extraordinaire LaQuan Smith that is the creative juice behind the oh so intense chain mail leggings.

According to NY Mag, Rodarte’s sample sale taking place tomorrow in New York will have items starting at $40. While we don’t know if those are going to be knitted ankle socks or what, it’s a hopeful sign after hearing last year’s sample sale was overpriced and items present weren’t that impressive.

There’s something about androgynous menswear lines that I can’t help but fall in love with; Mjölk being the newest of the clan. This collection is a combination of boyish charm and adult sensibilities, full of thick knits for the coming FW10 season, in varying tones of gray, neutrals and blues.
Mjölk has a very soft masculine feel; and while it is ever present it does not detract from a distinct asexuality of the brand. One thing is for certan – Mjölk is officially on the demiCouture radar.

Ultra rad New York boutique Oak NYC has officially acquired a good haul of Ann-Sofie Back for Cheap Monday.
Cheap Monday is notorious for affordable, cutting edge casual pieces and the collaboration with Ann-Sofie Back is only adding honey to our tea. While Oak already had a handful of CM pieces, there are a good lot of new items to get hyped over.
