If you were alt in the 90s or 2000s, it’s likely you were into thick black and white stripes. They’ve officially hit the mainstream, with Balmain leading the parade of color blind friendly threads. Their tuxedo blazer and quad zipper denim skirt are incredible, but enough to bankrupt the average shopper. Lavin’s strapless stripe dress is for the similarly spendy crowd, though the contrast striping pattern is super lovely.
For those with more realistic budgets, I’ve found New Look’s jeans, a clone of True Religion’s striped Halle. Alice + Olivia’s cropped beaded tank is feminine in its detailing, while Topshop’s shorts and tee A-line dress are a super affordable means to jump on this trend’s wagon. Last of all is Asos’ midi skirt, which I would be tempted to describe as frumpy if it weren’t for the loud black and white print.
