Dr Marten boots seem to have completed their first 50 years of life hopping on one leg. This is a brand that is synonymous with rogues, blue collars, and everyone in between; and now in 2010 truly being considered a brand for the style conscious.
Whether haven’t laced up a pair since the 90s or are a proud Doc collector, one can’t deny the impact on the world and especially England’s street style scene. For the first time within recent years, Docs are being treated for being more than a punk staple and a true fashion addition – they haven’t collaborated with Jean Paul Gaultier, Raf Simons, Stussy Deluxe, Yohji Yamamoto, and Submersive.
From the basic black 8 hole to new floral prints and colorful foil designs, it’s clear that Docs have come a long way from their rough and tumble days, and have still a long way to go before they hit their stride.
