Since gray is the new black of SS10, lighter tones will compliment against its less harsh tones. Nude is [once again] a driving force in summer styling; it’s light, compliments those (as myself) who are quite fair skinned, and is incredibly complimentary with lace styling.

Miss Selfridges is an excellent shop when you want an alternative to the Topshop pieces everyone already knows about – they have equal garment quality, and the same British flair and attitude you want from TS.

There are a few premium items highly recommended for the coming season; the suede biker jacket (£80) is an excellent, typically ‘hard’ dressing piece that has been adapted for a more feminine look.

If you’re looking to add some feather accenting to your wardrobe, check out the feather gilet (£55), feather cape(£35), feather shoulder bag (£40) or the Mongolian scarf (£40). Feather accessories work naturally well with nude colors, and most pieces tend to look less gauche than other shades.

Explore Miss Selfridge’s entire range of nude items, and start creating a dusty rose empire of excellence early!
