Prada: Re-cast Those Fatties! In the opera the saying usually goes something akin to “it’s not over ’till the fat lady sings”. Muicca Prada is hell-bent on changing that mentality, going as far as having curvy women re-cast for the production of “Attila” which she is designing wardrobe for.

Since Prada has stated clearly she ‘cannot clothe’ the larger ladies, they are now on the hunt for girls with model figures for extras. The Metropolitan Opera has stated she has full creative control, and are fully supporting her stance on the matter.

They’re reportedly in quite a financial mire, so they’re probably not loathing the press attention the opera house is getting, even if it’s not particularly friendly to most people.

Skinny bitches 1 : Robust curves 0

That’s a touch depressing for all of us ‘normal’ sized women out there, but I suppose the reality of it is that less fabric means less costs involved.

@Alice: That’s what they get for having an elite designer on staff! I’m not shocked, and I wouldn’t question her request either.

If they wanted to feature average gals, they should have found a house that does not do couture!

Her request is totally legitimate and I’m not disputing that. I’m simple admitting that sometimes the reality of couture is a bit off-putting for us ‘average gals’.

I thought it was spelled Miuccia, not Muicca…?
