Jonathan + Olivia, one of Vancouver’s prime boutiques, is closing their Vancouver location.
The owner has migrated to Toronto from Vancouver, and has decided to discontinue the West Coast location rather than running it from across the country.
There is some good news; the owner has promised to create an online boutique for Vancouverites and current stock is up to 40% off. It’s quite sad to see Main Street staple J+O pick up and leave, but sometimes loss breeds new gain – perhaps Vancouver will be lucky enough to have a comparable retailer hole up in the old J+O space.t

Too bad, although most of their things were above my price point anyway. Perhaps there are some decent bargains to be had this week though.
Main St is just booming with new clothing boutiques! There are three more clothing stores slated to open between Main & Broadway and Main & 13th within the next couple of months. There are also several vacant spaces with brown paper-covered windows currently being renovated, so some of those are bound to be clothing stores as well. I wouldn’t mind a jewelry store or an alternative shoe store to Umeboshi…
