Topshop’s supply of new stock is never ending, but this particular batch of sequined pieces is particularly exceptional.
I can’t help but think that pieces like these are what should have been released under the Kate Moss for Topshop brand; they would have had people buy the pieces regardless, and would have been able to charge more. Oh well, c’est la vie.. it works out better for the shopper in the end anyway.
The off shoulder playsuit ($100) is an excellent holiday alternative to a dress when you aren’t looking to wear a pair of fancy slacks. If you think you have to wear this playsuit with chilly legs as a result, think again – liquid black leggings (or even leather ones) are an excellent cover up choice. One could even layer it with a double shot of sequin; put the square sequin blazer ($160) over the playsuit. Since it has different sequin types (round versus square), there is enough natural juxtoposition to pull off the look.
If you’re one of the ladies that isn’t necessarily keen on being hyper dressy, a sequined take on the standard stripe day dress is a best choice for you. Topshop has just released the scallop sequin dress ($250); it has all the quality of a casual piece, yet the sequins take the look to an evening level.
Of course there are other options, including sequin shorts ($70), zebra sequin leggings ($100) and the open backed black sequin playsuit ($80).
