Everyone wants to get their claws on leather thigh high boots, but who in their right mind has the spare change to drop $400+ on a pair of boots? I certainly don’t – and it would be quite silly to do so, especially when there are so many other options. Boots are mentioned from left to right.
ASOS has a lovely suede, flat pair ($162) named the Compass. These are an elegant, plain pair of boots which would blend with nearly anything. If you’re looking for a tall suede boot with a slight embellishment, Chinese Laundry’s Tripin ($99) is an ideal options, and you can grab a pair in gray and black for under $200… how awesome is that?! While these three designs are rather awesome, they won’t stand up to heavy rain (even with suede treatments).
Report’s Harper boot ($135) is an excellent choice; the sole is a slightly raised wedge, and has a trend resistant almond shaped toe. New Look has a buckled thigh high boot ($198) which will mesh well with anything grungy and studded in your FW09 wardrobe. Last of all, we have the Naughty Monkey Kryptonite boot ($189); it has the most embellishment of all with the buckles and a leather tassle, plus a wee 1 1/2 inch heel.
The Kryptonite is by far my favorite of the entire crop, by my tastes. I’ve got enough plain Jane footwear to sink a ship!
