Most of us have gotten ripped off at one point or another, and it’s so easy to just type those numbers into sites that may be sketchy. Even if the retailer is legit and secure, hackers could attack and grab up your credit info.. those buggers really ruin things for everyone.
Even pre-paid cards or credit debit cards aren’t immune from the wrath of fraudsters. These are worse off, since your actual account funds are immediatley gone instead of credit being stolen. In comes the single use credit card to save the day!
You can get single use or ‘disposable’ credit card numbers from Paypal’s Single Use card, which is used by a downloaded toolbar in your browser. If you prefer not to use the #1 site for money laundering, you can acquire a disposable number from your credit card issuer – Amex, Discover, Citibank offer single use security.
If you’re unsure whether your card issuer offers this kind of product, phone and ask. If they tell you they do not, submit feedback to the company and look into signing up for a Paypal single use card – at least there are options.
