Sure they’re all prickly and embellished, but when it comes down to it Louise Goldin’s footwear for Topshop are pairs of dull court shoes amped up with some attitude and super glue – not something I’m messing my pants over.
It’s driving me mental that this range is being oh so seriously compared to Rodarte’s machinist inspired range by Nicholas Kirkwood, or Louboutin’s for that matter.
These are plain pumps made to look not so plain, and one could easily create a pair of their own with the proper materials and some patience.
The detail shots are impressive, but these definitely aren’t ’spend my rent money’ amazing.
