The Fugliest Footwear Of 2009

I know these are all boots, but I suppose the designers swung towards a canvas with more fug ridden detail this year.

Animal themed pieces were at the forefront of lust this year, but unfortunatley that means that a few fug pairs had to be created – it’s the shoe balance which is to blame.  If you caught yourself having a moment over Louboutin’s tiger striped Feticha boots or Manolo’s pony calfskin boots, you need to give yourself a little glove slap and keep in line.

If you’re an offender concerned with comfort but love to wear the Hair of Another, Mou’s Antelope cowboy boots and Marc Jacobs’ faux fur lace ups are two ultimate offenders.  These are both far too close to the fug Uggs in my opinion, especially the Mou pair – it’s like they’re growing brown, hairy mold over that horrific sheepskin slub design.  Better yet, just stay clear from the freaky cougar boots.

The Ugliest Shoes Of 2009

Tie dye can be such a risk, and it’s never worth taking the chance if you’re waffling on the style.  Brian Atwood’s tie dye slouch boots are a divine example of a heinous dye job – sky blue and white? Perhaps this would be acceptable if we were in a gauche Smurf Town.  If you’re going to tie dye town, opt for something far from footwear, and select more complimentary color combinations.

The last are the trailor park Louboutins.  A contradiction, you say? Not when these pointers have snakeskin flames reaching down the sides of each pair! If your boots match your thick necked boyfriend’s truck, you know that this is footwear you must pass on – and look into acquiring a new, less Jager bombing significant other.
