Holidays are times for opulence, even if most of it is false. If you’re looking for champagne on a sparkling wine budget (aren’t we all?), then it’s in your best interest to take a closer look at the shoes that have been collected for you below.
Trend: GOLD
When it comes to holidays, golden footwear is sought by nearly all. If you’re searching for a pair of eye catching, conversation provoking heels, acquire a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Michelles ($124); these fantasy friendly pairs feature a uni-horn heel, and plenty of ruffles to make any girly girl vomit with jealousy. If the Michelle’s aren’t your fancy (or budget), check out the highly affordable classic glitter pump from Forever 21 ($23). These aren’t made for long term repeat wear, but if you’re looking for something trendy and new, F21 is an excellent stop when the budget isn’t massive.
For times when you’d like a more fully covered shoe, check out this glitter gold oxford ($68). It’s a peep toe which keeps trending up to the moment, and creates a fully blinding sparkle (if that’s what you’re looking for). When gold is the target but you’re looking or something a bit more demure, ASOS’ gold studded heel ($130) is an excellent combination of both. Leather, studs and gold? If that’s wrong, I don’t want to be right.

Trend: RED
It’s pretty damn obvious that if you’re going to multiple holiday parties you’ll need a pair of red heels. You’re going to want to dress to compliment your surroundings, so what better thing to match than Santa Claus? I can’t think of anything more seasonally appropriate. If you’re one that can’t deal with a plain heel, then Naughty Monkey’s studded red tartan pump ($85) is something up your alley.
If less intense is the name of your game, look into a plain yet patterned court shoe ($110) from Topshop, or ASOS’ Grosgain bow studded hidden platform pumps ($68).

For everyone else!
Maybe to you gold and red sucks, to which I say ‘fair enough’ and offer up these last three holiday heels. Black sequins are an excellent method of keeping with the sparkle, Chinese Laundry has a basic pair of peep toe pumps ($79).
If you’re looking for something minus metallic, silk or colored leather is a safe bet to keep demure, yet edgier than a plain black pump. Debnenham’s has two excellent options when it comes to this – their teal bow pumps ($69) and the purple leather flower detail pumps ($138) . If you’re not going for holiday type colors (such as purple, for instance) ensure that your colors are in rich jewel tones to match the winter seasonal tone.
