Yes, Vancouver is actually holding a Fashion’s Night Out of its own – but there’s only one retailer taking part.
That retailer would be The Bay, who is working to overhaul their style image from outdated to glam and current.
BCBG Generation, Barbie by David Dixon, Kensie, Pink Tartan, DKNYC, T Tahari, Calvin Klein are some of the labels that will be featured at The Bay Pacific Center on September 10th.
Fall Beauty Gala –Main Floor, 12pm – 10pm
Women’s Exclusive Shopping Night – 3rd floor, 5:30pm – 10pm
As a side note – I’m not too sure why only one retailer is participating; there are many high end boutiques (Holt Renfrew to name one that should be involved) both corporate and independently operated.
These are the retailers that Fashion’s Night Out was designed to assist, so where are they?!

I don’t know what Vancouver’s problem is. It’s got a severe lack of culture. It’s too bad that some great people can’t get together and give a proper Fashion Night Out, or a proper Fashion Week for that matter…
09.05.09 @ 9:18 pmPart of it is there’s redundancy; if you can believe it, there’s a BC fashion week AND a Vancouver fashion week.
I think we would be better off just having ONE fashion week that’s strong versus two fashion weeks that are weaker.
09.08.09 @ 8:07 pmIt’s not only redundancy but poor planning for both Fashion Weeks and Fashion’s Night Out.
Both concepts can be so much more. It seems it’s either corporate takeover as we’re seeing in Vancouver’s Fashion’s Night Out, or a lack of willingness to work together and create an epic gathering as I’ve seen repeatedly with VFW and BCFW.
Either way, Vancouver needs to get it together.
