Yes, It’s A Black Unicorn Shoe

Yes, It's A Black Unicorn ShoeThis is the most mystical shoe I’ve ever come across.  It reminds me of something the little Mermaid would wear if she got jaded and took up a goth streak.

This is the Michelle by Jeffrey Campbell, previously only available in a dainty nude shade.  There’s something about the patent black leather with this design.

It’s so evil looking!  Just look at that heel for heaven’s sake!

If you’re down with the Michelle, it’s a reasonable $119 at Solestruck.

Introducing A T-Shirt With Shoulder Pads

Finally A T-Shirt w/ Shoulder PadsWell, it’s finally happened – a t-shirt has been infused with shoulder pads.

Three Dots has created a beautiful, simple little tee that would be a simple piece to update even an outfit consisting of drainpipe trousers and a boot.

While this is a simple pocket tee with the shoulder details, I still can see this being a sell out design at $88.

The sculpted tee is available in white and black, though the stitching detail is generally lost on the dark fabric.

Three Dots does ship internationally, so all you strong shoulder loving shoppers around the world are in luck.

It’s official – Talula‘s Fw09 collection has hit Aritzia stores.

Talula’s official website was also launched in the flyer, but it’s pretty limited. The site basically acts as an interactive lookbook; you can’t purchase or look at product images that don’t include models.

Dolce & Gabbana SS10 Collection Review
Wednesday September 30th 2009, 11:27 am

The show that opens and closes with two incredible takes on the suit for women automatically gets my vote, but Dolce & Gabbana really pulled up their socks with this collection.

I enjoyed the darkness of D&G’s SS10 collection; there was nothing mainstream about any of it.  I particularly enjoyed the basic LBDs with the incredible embellishments, creative usage of all over lace.

The lace bloomers were also a pleasant surprise; it was all a very wearable set of nu goth set for spring time.  I’ll venture a guess that the lace and denim pieces will be replicated on the high street, as with the crochet designs.

As a side note, I found it very intriguing that the traditionally feminine loving design duo chose two very androgynous women to open and close the show.  Perhaps this is Dolce & Gabbana’s way of recessionizing their pieces – by transitioning to menswear?

Help End Breast Cancer w/ Betsey Johnson By Purchasing Her B-Aware Tote

Betsey Johnson is a survivor of cancer herself, so I’m sure it’s a very personal cause to help end the terror that is breast cancer.

On October 1st (tomorrow), buy a breast cancer tote and a portion of the day’s proceeds will go to the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund.   The NCCCF has done much over its beginning in 1991 – check out their entire chronology of achievements here.

Even on a superficial side, the tote is actually very cute and would be wearable for any wear without looking like a charity bag.  Breast cancer affects us all regardless of gender – let’s help Betsey bring an end to this disease.

Barneys Advertises Amazing Bess NYC & Gareth Pugh Pieces – But Where Are They?

I received my regular Barneys newsletter, and ghasped at the sight of the Bess NYC intensely studded leather jacket from their men’s line (shown below).

To my displeasure, the jacket wasn’t present when I clicked through to the Bess NYC collection page – and it was nowhere to be found.  I highly doubt that a $1,400 leather jacket would have sold out and been removed from the website in a matter of hours.

The same thing occurred when I checked out their Gareth Pugh pieces – they didn’t have the leather jacket shown in the ad in stock, or the leather trousers.

Barneys, this kind of bait and switch advertising is quite unseemly… let’s avoid this in the future.  We expect more from an excellent retailer such as yourself.

It’s one of those things we’ve been silently waiting for – European mega retailers H&M and Zara are finally going to allow you to shop online in 2010.

This may not sound incredible to many, but just think about it! Even if you don’t intend on actually purchasing these pieces online, you can view entire collections of clothing, shoes and accessories without having to set foot in store.

Now let’s hope that their online environments will ship worldwide, not just to Europe and the USA.

They have Cheap Mondays for $28, Pour la Victoire at $110 and Acne from $65-305.  Oh, and it’s all new.

Revolve Clothing’s members only sale department is a potential goldmine. You will have to wait for mid season or season end pieces to be current with styling, but these are authentic labels for a fraction of their suggested retail price points.

I applied for membership and was accepted the next day, so the wait isn’t extraordinary.

Talentless Farce Avril Lavigne Creates Perfume, Smells Like Divorce

Do you want to smell like this idiot who can’t even discern which genre her music fits within?

Didn’t think so.

Regardless of whether we want to have Avril’s stank bottled, it’s going to be forced upon retailers.  Her fragrance will be dubbed ‘black star’, but I’m pretty sure they would have been more true to form by calling it ‘brown eye’.

Great job, pop princess. Great job.

Opening Ceremony x Spike Jonze = Max Suit!!

For anyone who read and loved Where The Wild Things Are when they were younger, prepare to clench so you don’t mess yourself.

Spike Jonze collaborated with Opening Ceremony to create a range of clothing inspired by the film adaptation of the book – complete with a Max suit.  The pieces aren’t cheap, even though they are fashioned from faux furs – pieces range from $220 for a skirt to $895 for a parka.

The Max hoodie ($460) is a pretty cool half version of the jumpsuit below, just in case you may feel it’s inappropriate to be running around looking like a giant wolf on hind legs.

What’s your take on the Wild range?

Temptu Personal Airbrushing Kit Hits Sephora

Temptu Personal Airbrushing Kit Hits SephoraTemptu’s at home airbrushing kit has officially hit Sephora, and it is indeed $225 as originally promised.

The coverage can be adjusted to sheer, medium and full depending on skin types and replacement cartridges of foundation sell for $35 (a single cartridge of highlighter) to $55 (two cartridges of foundation).

Each pod apparently contains up to two months’ of makeup, so replacement pieces for this beautification machine wouldn’t really cost more than your average foundation upkeep. There are 12 pigment ranges for all skin variations, so there’s a shade for everyone.

Will you be buying the Temptu?

Zucca Jodhpur Leggings Hit La Garçonne

Zucca Jodhpur Leggings Hit La GarçonneIf you’re looking for a legging alternative for FW09 beyond the atypical 2nd skin style, look no further than Zucca’s jodhpur leggings ($506), just released to La Garçonne.

These leggings have the ideal fit juxtaposition; the looseness is expertly complimented by the extreme snug rouching of the calf area.

You would want to ensure that you layer long tanks and tops with these leggings since they do have a brief style elastic waistband, and a panel that drops down the crotch that may appear a wee bit unflattering.

If you’re into these leggings, check out Zucca’s gorgeous wool cowl neck trench and their long motorcycle jacket (if you’re looking for black, Topshop has a PU version selling in the same style for $720).

Jeffrey Campbell Gives Us A Bit Of Chloé

Jeffrey Campbell Gives Us A Bit Of ChloéIf you’re looking for a heeled over the knee boot for this season that gives you a little more than a plain ‘ol standard boot shaft, check out Jeffrey Campbell’s version of the Chloé FW09 design.

These are a wrap boot style gives a bit of texture to what could be a very a-typical black boot design, while the shaft height keeps the boot trend current. The heel is fairly tame, and the cone style is classic and good for balance.

Jeffrey Campbell designs are always pretty affordable; these particular boots are $298 and can be found locally at Brown’s.

American Apparel Releases Acid Wash Leggings

American Apparel Releases Acid Wash LeggingsThey’ve finally arrived – acid wash leggings!

I can’t wait till American Apparel gets tired of cropping their leggings; for people who are 4 inches taller than the average, cropped legs are not a good thing (they end up closer to under the knee than anything).

These leggings run at $44 a pop (Canadian), and I can guarantee they will be a lovely layering piece just in time for fall season changes.

True to AMAP form, I’m sure it won’t be long before we have an array of colored mineral leggings just like the denim.

Gareth Pugh Designs Eye Assaulting iPhone & Macbook Cases

Gareth Pugh appears to be a fan of MS Paint!  Pugh has released a collaborative black and white shape and contrast loving iPhone/Macbook cover set with Colette and AnOther Magazine.

I won’t make fun of the seizure inducing design, though, since I’ll be honest and admit I’d probably rock ‘em.

The iPhone case is €73, and the Macbook case €104.
