All of these hard accessories go amazingly with FW09′s metal and attitude heavy looks, and perfecting all of your rips, sheers, tartans and leathers requires fine accessories to pull everything off.
Oh, and the studded doctor’s bag ($62) is pretty freaking awesome as well. Just sayin’.
Phi‘s tough-as-nails FW09 range is immensely amazing and incredibly wearable – and you don’t even have to venture out of the range to create a full and incredibly styled outfit!
I created the three outfits below using all Phi designs – everything from the double belts and rouched leggings to the asymmetrical military jacket and bustier tank.
OK – because of a situation with the Grace-Gallery, the clothing sale has been postponed until further notice.
We should be back on soon, but I don’t have an exact date at the moment. As soon as I have confirmation, I will be spreading the sale flyer for all to see!
Keep your eyes and ears open, and we’ll see you at the next sale!
I can’t think of a better inspiration for this piece as Marianne Faithfull; though I can’t help but think that the single glove design is a wee reference to Michael Jackson.
The clutch is clearly oversized, and would be an intensely complimentary piece for any evening outfit.
The others, while they did peak my interest, would not be purchases I’d recommend for the prudent shopper. While I do love the sequin waterfall vest ($80), I’ve seen a handful of nearly identical designs released from Topshop’s regular line and the Moss range in recent past.
The loose knit jumper is appealing and comfortable looking, but for $70 one could find a near identical piece for much less. The same goes for the butterfly square scarf – it’s colorful and I love the print, but for $80? I don’t think so. I get that the scarf is silk, but what about the jumper? It’s 85% acrylic and only 15% wool. Topshop, you can do better than that!
I certainly hope that there will be more design variance and higher quality materials being used for coming collections.
Kate Moss’ limited edition goods for her Topshop FW09 range are full of glitz and glamor (like we’d expect anything else). The prices continue to escalate for individual pieces; the utterly jaw dropping sequin maxi dress at $600 (which is already sold out, by the way) and the leather dress for $310.
This jacket would be incredible for the FW09 season! You could pair it with anything that you would normally wear a blazer with; leggings, skinny jeans, skirts, dresses – nearly anything you can imagine.
Pieces like these are excellent to have in your collection because they’re classic, flattering, appropriate for all occasions and flatter immensely (black tailored wool? I think so)
Oh, and the Outnet ships to Canada and internationally.
A friend of mine brought up mortuary cosmetics and I realized this was an aspect of beautification I had no clue about – so naturally I had to check it out.
There is more to mortuary cosmetic prep than one may realize; before you even apply color and detail, you’ve got to prime that body -err canvas.
Basically, you have to begin with hiding burns, bruises [etc] with a massage cream product or a plasto waax. These products hide imperfections, eliminates wrinkles, prevents dry skin, and prevents rupturing connective tissues (burst blood vessels) while you handle the skin to apply (ok, that’s kind of nasty).
Add a tinting product as a base for the actual makeup, and then get to the good stuff – super thick color tint foundation, lip wax (to hide nasties like blisters), lip color and powder tint to finish ‘em off.

For $11 CA/$8 US, you can get the random cutting scraps from American Apparel’s spandex and cotton empire.
You’ve got to applaud AMAP – they’ve found a way to sell their garbage, and here’s the kicker: I bet people are already buying it!
Their suggestions for scrap usage are as follows; make clever jewelry, accessories, a card for grandma or a colorful hanging sculpture for your apartment.
Applause to the brain who thought this up, seriously.
These are the ‘Trust Me’ boots from Chinese Laundry. The design includes a hidden platform wedge, spat-like top side buttons on the boot shaft and an ideal semi rounded toe.
They’re leather and $119.
Can you imagine these boots with pretty much anything?!

Pop up shops are appearing everywhere these days!
Following in Gucci and Mark Ronson’s steps, luxury purveyor Mackage have popped up in NYC’s Meatpacking district. I am particularly loving their contrasting design; acid wash versus classic period hats and tall boots? Heaven!
She’s still going! Philip Green must have signed one hell of a contract with this woman.
For someone who was recently photographed with a bit of age showing (to say the least), she looks freaking amazing in these images. Topshop must have one hell of a retoucher on staff!
I find it a bit curious that Topshop left things until the day before to announce the new line. Taking Topshop’s notorious history of selling most items out in minutes, this last minute release is curious indeed.
From the photos, things actually look fairly shiny and purchase worthy – why all the secrecy, folks?

We typically accept it when designs get knocked off the assembly line of a well known designer (these boots, for example), but what about when it happens the other way around?
It appears that Marc Jacobs may have grabbed some pretty heavy inspiration from a streetwear label, DON. The DON design from ’07 is pictured on the left [black], while the ’09 MJ shirt is on the right.
What do you think? Is this acceptable inspiration or a blatant copy cat attack?
