Topshop lovers are loving Mercy - the multi chain flat, that is.

It may be my imagination, but my conspiracy loving heart has a hunch that this shoe is an homage to Madonna wearing the chains of Givenchy FW08 on her 50th birthday, and her recent acquisition of a new accessory child from Africa that shares the same name.

Regardless of the origins of its name, it seems that within a small window of its release the suede $60 Mercy flat has entirely sold out – even though it only came in half sizes! So bizarre.

I wonder if they will decide to re-issue this shoe, or if a label like Jeffrey Campbell will do a version (hopefully leather) of their own?
