There is no reason to toss style to the wind during a heat wave. Sure you may be tempted to delve into the dredges of dull tank tops and cutoffs, but there are so many more options.
During an onslaught of heat, there are two things to keep in mind: fabrics that can breathe, and fabrics that are lightweight enough to be worn without immediately becoming dripping with sweat.
- Try to accessorize, even if this is very minimally. If you are too boiling to bother with anything beyond sunglasses, try knotting your clothing in a creative manner (as seen on the far left) or doing creative DIY cuts (as seen on the second to right).
- Avoid wearing only solids day in and day out. Even if you’re in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, having patterned pieces gives your look more pep, depth and is more of a treat to look at. Mix and match patterns to give a maximum effect [how to guide here].; it’s nearly effortless and gives you stand out appeal.
- Layer with sheer fabrics if you’ve got them. Sheer breathes, and won’t stick to you that badly since pieces being sold nowadays are typically oversized. Not only that, but they’re soft and handy for keeping a little warmer when temperatures dip in the late evenings.
- I know it’s tempting to wear sandals or nothing at all (this goes for men and women), but if your feet aren’t ready to be put on display then prepare to suffer with full cover shoes on or risk looking in need of a dire pedi like this woman.

This all great if you weigh 105 fucking pounds and have no tits.
08.03.09 @ 12:58 pm@Katy: People over 105 lbs can’t wear patterns, accessorize lightly or have manicured feet? Come on.
