Other than the hipster pouch, Kim Cathers of Kdon has released new wallets which she calls troll pouches. These little bits are whimsically designed (as always), and handmade in Vancouver. Pieces range from $45-60.
She’s a busy bee right now – stay fixed to demiCouture for new releases.

I’m historically not a fan of bib necklaces – not because I don’t care for the style, but because when these pieces are created with cheap materials they always look awful.
This is one style that shouldn’t be touched unless you are going to make yourself one with real gems or stones, or pony up the cash it takes to buy one made with quality materials.
I’ve seen too many poorly done bib necklaces that are supposed to personify elegance and end up having the wearer look poorly put together. You may want to look at thrift boutiques for vintage versions, though ensure that none of your stones are missing from the bib.
The bottom line is if you can’t afford a quality version of this design, pass this trend by.
If you saw the Dior RTW FW09 runway, you undoubtedly remember their intense bobby pin usage. It was sharp, fun and inventive but highly unlikely to be seen on asphalt runways in your locale – till now.
This is a practical application of the bobby pin attack, compliments of Alina Sulaiman, Master Stylist of Statik Salon. As you can see, instead of an all over smattering of pins there is a focus on the back of the head and nape – a place that gets neglected more often than not.
Can you imagine this hair at events? You’ll be mobbed!

Until September 7th, M.A.C. customers won’t be charged shipping fees on their orders shipped to Canadian addresses. I’d suggest taking a look at the new nail lacquers for FW09.
Yes, please! These babies are the latest to be churned out of the power design house of Balmain. I honestly haven’t seen something I wouldn’t love to wear and possibly give up my firstborn to acquire.
These waxed jeans are no exception, though they demand a pretty dollar for the privilege; Balmain demands $1,656 for the ability to put these lovelies on your body.
I love how the wax echoes the look of leather, especially with the ribbing. You can’t deny it – for denim, this is a damn good look!
Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to drop nearly $2k on a pair of pants?
As you may or may not be aware, Fluevog shoes has an area of their website called Fluevog Open Source Footwear where ‘Vog fans can submit their own designs for production consideration.
The deal is, if your design is chosen then you get a pair of shoes and they are mass produced and sold in Flue shops worldwide. I went through the scores of submissions, and these twelve were my favorites. There is a voting system; if you see a pair of shoes you’d love to own then be sure to vote!
Check out the shoes’ individual pages, vote for your favorites, check out the image details and designer explanations of the footwear design!
None of the footwear was named, so I took liberty there.
Well, it’s happened. I actually enjoy what I’ve previously labeled only as a style abomination. Topshop has made the thing to break me – the heeled sneaker.
I really do enjoy the fold over high top formula and massive tongue. I’m chalking up my conversion to the fact this looks more like an ankle boot than a lifted sneak, but still.

Since the rest of the world (even L.A.) besides NYC must wait till September 11th to get the full September Issue treatment, I figured the trailer would be an appropriate tease.

On September 7th, Value Village is holding a 50% off sale.
Reg tagged items aren’t on sale as they’re ‘new’ merchandise, but everything else is fair game. As the flyer suggests, the US sale day is Monday, Sept 7th and the Canadian sale day is Monday, September 14th.
Stores are opening an hour earlier, so lace up your boots, polish your offensive elbows and get there bright ‘n early for the best items.
Despite what others may tell you, don’t bother trying things on the night before as workers tend to re-organize the store the evening prior.
This sale is the perfect opportunity to beef up your wardrobe in time for FW09!

Though this isn’t directly fashion related, I was checking out the latest crop of Joe before being completely harassed by employees at Superstore for being on my iPhone.
My original Tumblr post is below:
Dear Superstore:
Yesterday while I was Tweeting in laundry detergent aisle of my local Superstore, I was not taking photos. I realize you may be unaware of the multi functions of an iPhone, but this is no excuse for badgering me twice.
Not that you are due any justification, but I was killing time before picking up a perscription. Since I only had detergent to purchase other than my perscription, I was in no particular hurry. Thus, I was walking slowly and Tweeting and taking in the general grocery landscape.
Your employees were rude, condescending and incorrect in their accusations.
So, here’s to you, Superf^^^s. Way to go.
Maybe next time you’ll think twice before you rudely approach your customers in such a manner.
I’ll be writing a somewhat more eloquent letter of complaint to Superstore Corporate later today. Sigh.
Get ready to explore the outer limits with Topshop’s Unique line this fall – it seems the range known for it draping fabrics and explorative style is taking us a route paved with shine. A few pieces have been released at the moment, though the full range is not yet available as of today. I love the high shine dress!
