Genius Brits Comes Up With Vending Machine That Sell Flats In Clubs

We’ve all been there; in retarded amounts of pain simply because you will suffer to look good. I’ve seen girls taking off their shoes after only a few hours on the town – this is nasty and also potentially dangerous.

Fear the heel no longer! At least in the UK that is.

Vending machines in Brit clubs sell out of the £5 flats in no time. There are two companies hocking this newest craze; Afterheels and Rollasoles. Afterheels happen to be comprised of 100% natural and fully recyclable materials, creating a sustainable product that you won’t feel too terribly about wearing and ditching. The shoes even come with a bag to put your heels in for the trek home… how ingenious!

The Rollasole design is funkier (metallic with a bow), but for snazzier design you get a product that is less environment friendly.

I vote for machines like this to pop up in North America!

Love this idea…bring it to the states so we can take advantage of it!

06.15.09 @ 10:05 pm

Great idea! I would love to see this in the states!!!

06.16.09 @ 1:01 pm

Awesome idea – I would definitely use these!

when im wearing heels, i always take flats with me, so i can change whenever i want,i dont have to buy and trhow them away… lets give the earth a break.=)

06.16.09 @ 3:54 pm

@Ceci: I do the same. The one company -does- sell 100% recyclable shoes, though. Technically it’s not terrible for the environment.

06.16.09 @ 3:59 pm

this was more impressive when i thought it meant vending machines that sold apartments…

06.16.09 @ 4:35 pm

Recycling IS terrible for the environment. Its just slightly less terrible than throwing things away. The only benefit to recycling is that the material isn’t filling a landfill. It still requires energy and creates a significant amount of pollution to reprocess anything for recycling. The best thing you can do is never create the waste in the first place.

06.16.09 @ 8:25 pm

i thought they were selling apartments too. but this is a pretty great idea!

06.17.09 @ 8:27 pm

This is genius…..amazing!

06.17.09 @ 9:12 pm

Just because something can be recycled, doesn’t automatically make it “earth friendly.” We should consider the environmental cost to make the item – harvesting raw materials, shipping them to a factory, assembling the item, shipping it to you, then recycled. This shoe is a GREAT idea. However, we cant let ourselves be sold the idea that consuming extra goods, more than we need, is earth friendly.

I second that! I don’t go out clubbing much, but when I have I hate wearing heels and take them off after a while. It’s a brilliant idea.

LOVE IT……….LIKE WHEN HEELS HURT YOUR FEET ITS SO HANDY

06.20.09 @ 6:32 am

I absolutely love this! I can’t wait to see it in the states,it will be a hit!

[...] ladies: an unparalleled brilliance to the solution of uncomfortable but attractive footwear – vending machine flats! * Obama’s amazing reaction time to a fly buzzing around during an interview. * A humorous [...]

I hope they have nose at the next club I wear stupid shoes to

06.26.09 @ 9:53 pm

…yeah, or… you could save your money and actually wear comfortable shoes to begin with. If you’ve worn them out before, and they hurt: don’t wear them again. Common sense, people.

06.27.09 @ 2:15 pm

you girls should just wear your flats to the club! problem solved!! less energy and waste of material for shoes you will wear once.

06.27.09 @ 5:38 pm

This is idiotic. If you can admit that your shoes cause you a ridiculous amount of pain, then why not admit that you need to wear more sensible shoes. Cute shoes that don’t hurt DO exist. This is an absurdly frivolous product.

06.28.09 @ 6:08 am

I think you meant “rollasoles” is snazzier and is metallic with a pink bow, not “aftersoles” typo? :)

07.01.09 @ 5:40 pm

@Dee: whoops.. corrected!

07.02.09 @ 11:43 am

Cute idea but, here’s a better one: Don’t wear heals or bring your own flats. >.>

08.12.09 @ 1:17 pm

women are so stupid…

08.15.09 @ 7:26 pm

@Mark: whatever happened to restraining chauvinistic opinions? You should have been taught better than that. Your email moniker of ‘assholeman’ [@hotmail.com] is quite accurate.

08.17.09 @ 9:21 am

Or you could just not wear heels to the club…
Oh women and our obsession with beauty. Now we get to pay for our idiocy, in the literal sense >.>

09.13.09 @ 2:46 pm

How about – flats small or flexible enough that you could fold them and stick them in a small purse pocket? Then you could easily have your flats with you in case your feet get tired.

10.16.09 @ 7:30 am

Just carry flats in your purse. Problem solved for free. I’ve seen these shoes. Not so cute.

02.25.10 @ 7:06 am

THIS IS AMAZINGG. i hope they come to Canada !

03.04.10 @ 9:08 pm

any girl who wears heels frequently should have a pair of roll up flats in her bag. its a necessity for our feet!

08.15.10 @ 3:02 pm

I think this is a brilliant idea. I know there have been times where I will wear heels to a club and dance all night, but then have to walk home. I would pay up to $10 dollars to have comfortable shoes on the way back. Some girls, like myself, do not carry bags to the club, because we don’t trust bag check. My friend got things stolen from her bag the first time we went out. Oh and please don’t dog on woman for wanting to wear heels. When your going to school or working what feels like 24/7, sometimes its nice to wear something you feel “hot” or “sexy” in. I wear them sometimes, but I also wear flats out too.

11.03.10 @ 5:21 am

I have used these machines in clubs, they are very handy and do work when the pain from your shoes become unbearable.

03.03.11 @ 12:03 pm

I have never seen this before. Surprised its not a Japanese girl, they have vending machines for everything you can imagine.

03.13.11 @ 12:47 am

Woah ive never seen this before !

06.13.11 @ 2:44 pm

Please bring these to the US!
