Lloyd’s of Gastown is currently holding a 40% off sale for both Kenneth Cole and Cold Method – check em out before stock gets picked over!
I haven’t got details, but I’m sure if they’re closing out for good they’re going to want to blow stock out as fast as possible (which = super rad discounts).
If you’re near Metrotown, it’s probably worth checking out.
My rad friend Shallom (of Stylefinds) is one of the two Vancouver finalists in the Holt Renfrew Contemporary Correspondent contest! The challenge was to take an outfit ‘from drab to fab’; her photos submitted for the contest are below.
Voting is available till Wednesday the 2nd of July, and make sure you only vote once or all your votes will be disqualified. As a warning for those in offices, the voting page does take you to Facebook.
drab…

fab!

If you’ve got money to spend, this sale is definitely something to consider. Check out the flyer below for sale item details; sale occurring now.

I was perusing through Forever 21‘s denim selection and came across these acid wash skinnies for $28. As you can see, they’re quite similar to the bleaching effect on Balmain‘s design, just minus the gash in the knee.
Thankfully, ripping up clothing is quite easily to do yourself. I would suggest [carefully] cutting them with sharp scissors while wearing them, so you know exactly where your hole will be located once you’re wearing them. For additional wear, aggressively wash or pull at the denim so the cut areas fray.
Bingo, instant on trend denim.

Yes, it’s true – 40% off everything regular priced but the vintage.
This sale is more like license to be recessionista awesome; swing by Nouvelle Nouvelle any time from this Thursday to Sunday and check out the goods.

Her latest conquest is Teen Vogue. I think she’s been looking lovely; the best she has in her brief career.
Her shoots are continually respectful of her age, yet still quite daring when it comes to styling and shooting style (especially considering her recent photoshoot with the Kaiser for Crash Magazine).
What do you think of Emma’s new career turn?

This is a great concept and ensures Holt Renfrew is seen as accepting new media – but I can’t accept that Bryan Boy has been named as one of the fashion blogosphere’s elite.
I extend a special congratulations to the lovely Anita Clarke of ‘I Want I Got ‘and of course Scott Schuman, who helms the ever reliable ‘Sartorialist’ international street style blog.
I can’t understand, however, why Bryan Boy got on this list. While fashion clearly differs from individual to individual, I still cannot accept that Boy is a style leader.
I suppose stranger things have happened in this world.
Ahh, summer (ie. times of sales)…
This Thursday will hold the VIP summer sale for One Of A Few. All spring goods are cut 20-50%, and drinks are provided for you thirsty shoppers.
A notable extra: shoes from Two Of A Few are included in the sale (excellent!)
Oh… and this is ladies only, so no vajayjay = no go.

It’s sale time at The Block – which means that I can actually afford to shop there (and therefore you can too). Excellent. It’s summer wardrobe stock time.

The catch is you must have a UK mailing address or someone who would be willing to post this lovely splash mac. If you can swing it, this piece is both practical and lovely to look at – and designed by Christopher Kane.
If you can manage to get your hands on one, you will be only required to pay a paltry £9. It can also be laid flat as a groundsheet.
All profits go to the Teenage Cancer Trust, so your pounds (or dollars) are going to a fine cause.
I had to do a double take with this one. At first I thought it was a case of some foreign brand rip-off, but it’s actually a genuine Balmain product.
The hairXpression pieces (as shown below) go for $86 US, though those are synthetic. I don’t even know what to think about this. Will you be asking your hair stylist for these?

It looks like American Apparel is taking more of their designs and making mini version for the kiddies.
Their current kids’ selection is fairly dull, but their ‘coming soon’ section illustrates some more interesting choices. So far, the preview photos indicate new onsies, bloomers and tights. Since the price points have not been released yet, I’m assuming the pieces will range from $15 – 20.
If you’re a parent, would you buy any of this for your kids?

In the continuously evolving world of ankle boots, it’s difficult to make a pair that stands out enough to actually consider [albiet for less then 30 seconds if you have my shoe budget] $1,155 boots.
These babies have everything from collar and zipper detailing to texture embroiders at the heel of the shoe. Beyond that, the zipper pulls are actually little skulls branded with the McQueen name. The skull detail is tiny enough not to be 8th grade goth tacky, but something that compliments the rest of the design.
Anyone planning on getting these? I hope some affordable clones come out soon.

Oh yes, you’ve read correctly. This is the collaboration shoe loves over the world have been waiting for – Jimmy Choo is collaborating with Swedish megabrand H&M.
According to Choo himself, the collection consists of a collection of bags, shoes and accessories for women and men; plus a range of clothing.
Mark your calendars for Nov. 14 and take the day off work to line up nice and early.

Not bad at all!
Ed Westwick has trimmed down to regain his status of hot shit of Gossip Girl. This spread is features in the newest issue of GQ, and I have to say they’ve been a success.
Keep it up, Ed… you’re almost back to where you started.

In the wise words of the LOLcat, ur doin it wrong. I do wish you would stop bastardizing Topshop (seen below) and Balmain… you’re ruining two prime labels.
Cease and desist!

We’ve all been there; in retarded amounts of pain simply because you will suffer to look good. I’ve seen girls taking off their shoes after only a few hours on the town – this is nasty and also potentially dangerous.
Fear the heel no longer! At least in the UK that is.
Vending machines in Brit clubs sell out of the £5 flats in no time. There are two companies hocking this newest craze; Afterheels and Rollasoles. Afterheels happen to be comprised of 100% natural and fully recyclable materials, creating a sustainable product that you won’t feel too terribly about wearing and ditching. The shoes even come with a bag to put your heels in for the trek home… how ingenious!
The Rollasole design is funkier (metallic with a bow), but for snazzier design you get a product that is less environment friendly.
I vote for machines like this to pop up in North America!

The body paint is amazing, and they put her in the freaking ugliest lime green sandals on this planet.
The stylist for this shoot should be canned.

My lovely friend and fellow style blog comrade Shallom Johnson [Stylefinds] is interviewing for the Holt Renfrew style reporter position this afternoon.
She’s one of five finalists from Vancouver to go in front of the final review panel to win the gig and a $1,000 credit at Holt’s – good luck Shallom!
