Alexander McQueen For Target Underwhelms Even With Low Expectations

Talk about an underwhelming snooze fest! Alexander McQueen’s much anticipated collection for Target’s GO International line falls completely flat.

This has been a sad trend of late with all GO collections; they started out so strongly a few years ago and now have completely lost their steam despite reputable designer influence (besides McQueen, think Thakoon, Proenza Schouler and Alice Temperley).

McQueen essentially gives us three wearable pieces that are worth buying – one t-shirt dress ($35), a t-shirt with a silkscreened woman and a McQueen logo ($23), and a large lapel denim jacket ($60) that just barely made it on the ‘OK’ list (I can imagine this has styling potential when not worn over some sad blue country dress).

The silkscreened tee (which is also the best designed piece) has already sold out, of course.  I haven’t much hope for the future of these GO lables – even H&M’s collaborations run circles around these collections.
