It’s the summer of lamé.
These swimsuits are guaranteed to catch eyes (if it’s a sunny day, the reflection may blind your onlookers!). Since I haven’t come across any other label that creates lamé swimwear, this is going to be a shameless plug for American Apparel.
I would suggest picking up a few different combinations on one and two pieces for effect and possible suit layering. If you order from the American site and get your package sent to a shipping aggregator in the US, you’ll end up saving a few dollars.
There are a few downsides to investing in some cornea-searing lamé:
- The metallics dull a little too quick for my liking (especially for each individual pieces’ price points).
- AA discourages dips in salt water and chlorine. Go figure. I have swam in chlorine while wearing the gold bodysuit multiple times and the wear has not been that visible, so it’s not as bad as the site makes it out to be.
If you’re hopping on a plane in the coming months, be sure to pack some versions like the women below are wearing. You’ll be the Queen of the Beach!

I found your site on technorati and read a few of your other posts. Keep up the good work. I just added your RSS feed to my Google News Reader. Looking forward to reading more from you.
