Topshop Unique’s Fall 2008 Collection On The Runway

Topshop Unique has hit the New York runways (and soon to be the new York Streets with the opening of its first flagship store in the US) and I must say I was not impressed.

Other than the Matrix-seque leather ultra tight trousers, the Fall 2008 line seemed to fall flat. I was surprised at the level of cloned knitwear the show offered its potential ready-to-wear customers. The pieces seemed to be that which you could find [already] in any H&M across the globe; they offered nothing in the way of Topshop flair.

To add to it all, the models seemed to be wearing the exact same pieces (knits on top and leathers on the bottom) with no real creativity whatsoever.

While I though the pieces were acceptable; it was nothing to get excited about. I wonder how buyers will react in-store.
